    Ubirr Kakadu NT

I recently did a camping trip from Yulara up to Darwin and back with a couple friends.

We hit a lot of the well known spots and a few not so well known along the way.

These were shot at Ubirr in Kakadu at sunset. Its a tough location to get shots without people in the frame as it so busy there but I made the best I could of it. Had I been better prepared I'd have taken my 10 stop ND filter and done a long exposure so the people vanished form the shots. Something for next time.

Nicely done and a good record of the trip. Pretty green up that way which is a bit of a surprise to me not ever having been there.

Yeah, It is generally a lot greener up north then down around here in the south of the NT. We were there in May at the very start of the dry season but this wet season was as dry as they have had in long time, less then 1/3 their regular wet season rain fall. Being it was very early in the dry season a lot of locations in Kakadu were still closed. A mate of mine is a park ranger in Kakadu, (south end of the park) he only got Gunlom (a famous waterfall) in the south of the park opened the Easter weekend the week before we were there. They have to ensure they have removed and relocated all the crocs before they can open to the public for the dry season. I'll post a few more photos of different parts of Kakadu.
