Nice shot. I love the colours in the water, almost purple in places on my monitor.

Thanks yes many of the rivers in Tassie are stained by tannins from bark and vegetation, still ok to drink generally and it does give some remarkable reflections.

Nice leading line and reflections. I wonder if it would even be better.to include the sky?

Thanks for the comment and yes it may have been better had there been some detail in the sky. I had to make this one all about the reflections. That morning the cloud and mist was quite low over the forest and gave me nothing in the sky to work with.

Yeah, you have a high contrast scene. A 2 or 3 stops gradual nd and a cpl filter should help to capture the details of the sky.

True if you have them with you. These were holiday snaps over Christmas weekend.

I see. Do you have HDR mode on your camera? I occasionally used it when I didn't have my filters and tripod with me. I then merged the raw files in LR.

Yes I do and use it sometimes. I only have an earlier version of Lightroom (4.4) which doesn't recognize RAW files from my cameras. I rarely shoot RAW anyway, and I'm not so concerned as I captured what I was after in the image.
    Thanks for your thoughts.
