I've been photographing storms again. I was late getting to this one. There was much more lightning earlier.

I need to find a different angle to photograph from. I always take shots from here, it's too convenient.

    Thought & critiques welcome.

I know that “ I should move somewhere else” feeling. I captur a lot of skies from my balcony. Oh well.

Beautiful storm by the way. Love the darkness creeping in.

Thanks all. You're right Nate, far too familiar and overshot haha. Next time I'm going to look around the other side of the city. Try to get a foreground and a more interesting composition. I find this angle so boring but it's the best spot to view the storms coming in.

Very well done, there's really nothing to criticise about it at all.

Mate its a great shot. Just because it is familiar doesn't make in any way poor. I once lived at the foot of the Blue Mountains (for 29 years) and now look back and wish I had shot the things I used to more. After leaving Brisbane a few years ago now, I wish I had taken more advantage of the city and it's surrounds but at the time it was all so familiar I didn't see it as I do now. I loved shooting from up there in different light and weather and now just I did more. Where I live now I shoot all the familiar scenes time and time again in attempt to find something new and different about it and see it and show it in a different way.

This may sound knobby but I've found out here after a while you look at The Rock and Kata Tjuta very differently to a visitor or even someone who has been out here many times. I try to capture that with mixed success, so when I do leave I'll have images that remind me of feelings I had and the things I've experienced while living here rather then the just the physical beauty of this amazing place and won't have the regrets I do about the other places I've moved away from.

    Cheers Nate
