    Sunset

Had a go at sunsets and messed around with them in light room. Any comments or tip?

Beaut colours in both but IMO the composition could have improved the result by shooting in Landscape format.

By positioning yourself a little differently to shift the sign? in the top one further right away from the centre and to include more of the rockwall and less of the rhs and top of the second I think would make better pictures.

    Re: Sunset

The square cropping is interesting. I think you need a more interesting silhouette for the fist one to work. Or I think as closei was saying, position the object more centre of frame, make it symmetrical. Since it almost is at the moment, but not quite.

The colours in the second shot are much more interesting. And keeping some detail in foreground is good. My only recommendation would be to try reducing the number of things in the image, try to have just one point of focus. Right now I'd say the seawall protruding from the left is causing a distraction. I'd make the fence along the dunes the feature and straighten it across the bottom.

    Nice work.

I agree with Closei's comments on he 1st shot.

I actually like the 2nd one pretty well as it is. You haven't over cooked the post processing its a nice shot.

    Re: Sunset

    You've done well.

IMO both images would look better with some cropping. If you're not happy with me making these examples let me know and I'll delete them?

I haven't made any other changes other than cropping. For future reference and IMO, the second image could do with a bit more breathing space on the left hand side so the people aren't as close to the edge of the frame. You could also consider cloning out the person closest to the edge.

    Re: Sunset

Good shots. You can try improving on the Image composition aspect. In the first photo the pole or the staff could have been composed with rule of thirds for a better view.
