    Harley on the High Plains.

From a jaunt on the scooter whilst heading from Bright to Omeo via Falls Creek and looking across the Bogong High Plains.

Thanks Peter. If you haven't been up that way, that part of the world is worth the trip especially this time of the year with mild weather.

Yea, we used to have an old property up in Towonga..... spent a lot of time up there and still today we tend to spend time up that way. Magnificent country side.

Ah, great. We came via the Tawonga gap, stayed the night at Mt. Beauty and had dinner in Tawonga. Great area alright and should've stayed longer.

Re: Harley on the High Plains.

can I be a mongrel about it? lol

love the framing... think the bag next to the bike shouldn't be there though... and the helmet on the seat...

and as much as the newer Harley's are ok, an old one would have sweetened this shot so much more for me... but that is a personal flavour that I have... and I'll never own HA!

on the plus... it really is a wicked photo though... love the colours in it!! that sky is perfect.

Not a problem Sonic, we've all got a bit of mongrel in us You are right, the bag doesn't suit the shot and probably could've had the helmet handing from the bars
but being the lazy B I am, its amazing I got any pics. Did about 800 k's and got about a dozen pics where someone else would've had a couple of SD cards full
Usually once we get mobile I'm like the dog with his nose out the window Just enjoying it. Photography is a hobby for me and not an obsession and as such
miss plenty of shots but enjoy the outing
I hear a young bloke thinking when you talk about the older style Harleys and once I wouldn't have been seen on a cruiser Age has changed the equation.
If I was only into being a poser and not keen on travel I'd get something like a Harley Breakout. 'Pic Below' but the Ultra does the touring job very very well and in comfort.
    Thanks for the comments.

Harley Davidson Breakout (not my pic)

Re: Harley on the High Plains.

glad it wasn't taken harshly Sambur... I do hear you about enjoying the ride... I am a driver, not a rider, but I see so many shots I 'could' take on a trip but just keep on going enjoying myself as I go...

some of the new Harleys do stand out but I am just a sucker for the old 'class'... the old Harley, Indian, Norton etc... they carry something that the newer bikes don't have... that one above does stand out though for sure!!

look forward to seeing more pics from your travels

Re: Harley on the High Plains.

Bikes have lost a lot of character alright, although they've gained a certain amount of reliability
We stopped at Goulburn NSW not so long ago and a local bloke was out and about on his original
Norton commando in top nic. Great to see! Here's one from the Alex truck and rod show last year.
I had an old Beeza 125 (not this bike) as a kid for a paddock rod. My brother had an Aerial square four
and ex army Indian bike. Can't remember the CC's but you could pick em up cheap then Couldn't imagine
    what they'd be worth now!

Sounds good. Haven't been to a race meeting at Winton since the year Wayne Gardener won the moto gp. Aussie super bikes from memory and Robby Phillis was the gun then
I'll have to check it out and if we're around and not off somewhere have a look. Thanks.

For the Nikon shot I open in viewnx and transfer to ps as 16 bit tif.
For the Sony shot, usually just open it in ps.

I was lucky enough to follow a few of these today, although I can say that none of them were as good as condition as this one. Cracking shot.

*edit, by this I mean the BSA

    Thanks Sambur,
I can't justify the cost of PS so I will just have to stay with Nikon Capture XD.
