found this little guy the other day and think he is a sugar glider but not 100% sure.

Ratty looking little bugger, what was he doing out in the middle of the day? It a squirrel glider. Sugars normally have a white tip to their tail.
No matter that he is a ratty looking little fella, he was certainly a great find for daytime just sitting there innocently on the post without a care in the world!

I just want to know how I got over the hill without reaching the top!
What a cute little guy. How lucky you were to be in the right place at the right time.
thanks for the id jeremydisturbed him stump he sits on had a hollow12 feet off the ground couple of frames and he was gone into his hollow
thanks ljg he was in a dark spot base of a cliff jungle rainforesty type of vegetation kinda hard to spot but he moved so made it easy.mike
thanks kath i find when out the bush looking to shoot birds you see things if you care to look hard enough![]()
Yes, I find that. What I am finding is that I need to wear neutral colouring and nothing bright, that I need to tread carefully and quietly, and that I actually need more than one set of eyes to find all the things that fly off because I didn't notice they were there before they flew off![]()
Listening helps as well, when i'm birding i've got the species and location sussed out well before i spot the thing. listening for calls, moving branches, the crunching of leaf litter etc will find you alot more things than vision alone. Also don't be in a hurry. if you go on a bush walk expect to take twice as long as advertised. I normally average just 2 km/h during the day and 1km/h at night.
listening is very important and to know what your hearing is even better,
clothes colour is a good idea and try and be quite as well allthough difficult and to be able to spot your target before it flees is the key kath
the more spotters the better i take my son most the time he uses a p/s but sees things usually before i do.cheers mike
Thanks Jeremy. I listen, look around, see nothing, step forward and a bird flies off! Doh!
I've learnt to slow down my walking but out the back of my property, where there's scrub I love to wander - unfortunately my cat loves to follow me, winding himself in and around my legs. Guess he helps scare off some birds. I need to remember to shut him in when I want to go out with my camera.
keeps ya on your toes like you know keeping one eye on the ground and the other in the trees still have to be aware of those moving STICKS......![]()
