Here's a couple taken around NYE. I was at the Falls festival in Lorne, Vic.
Got into the photo pit for TZU and The Cat Empire. Hadn't dont anything like that before, it was a good learning curve.

How did you manage to get into the photo pit? I tried contacting the promoter for Southbound (WA's version of Falls) and they said I needed to be part of the media, I also got stopped from taking my DSLR into the site at all...

Jeez thats a bit harsh!
My friends have a music website, and got a media pass. It was on a cord so could just pass it around as we wished! :D

How was Southbound? (other than the gay photo rules i guess)

hi, 1st good photos andsl good skills getting them.

my mate took his daughter to matchbox 20 (i dont condone child abuse she was the one who wanted to go i promise ) at the entertainment centre and she phoned someone up involved with the concert and was told she could take a P&S but not a dslr the explanation for this she was told was thats how they they seperate the fans from pro's , there maybe more to it than that, thats just how she explained it to me

Oh yeah its definately fair enough, if I was trying to sell my photos and there was a guy next to me doing it for nicks Id be pretty pissed off. Just makes it hard to break into the industry.

Soutbound was otherwise BRILLIANT. I look forward to it every year just love it.

These were all done with the Canon 70-200 f4L on a 40D.

I have scored a photo pass to Good Vibes this Sunday! So along with my current gear i'm hiring a 5D MkII and 70-200 f2.8 IS! Can't wait, Presets and Fatboy Slim!
