Hi Jess, it's great to see the enthusiasm, I was also ecstatic when I did my first Wedding
Regarding your shots, you need to break the habit of keeping your camera on a permanent 45 degree tilt.
The photos are nice and clean, but lack "pop" and contrast, particularly 1 and 2. Also, there's a lot of empty/negative space in your photographs which is a bit distracting (e.g. right of 1.; top of 3 etc., and the tilt didn't help this at all.
I think your photos are nice and clean though, unlike a lot of new wedding photographers who overdo the contrast and saturation and glow and destroy otherwise good photos. The only pet peeve of mine you have is the tilt :D
One of my favourite photographers is Jeff Ascough who does some really awesome B&W stuff

thanks for that smorter. i have a few more pictures that im going to post. the first picture is of the first wedding i did by myself, the 2nd one is when i was a 2nd shooter for a lady and the last one is one is of my friends. it was a favour for them cos they never got any photos taken at their wedding. im in the process of making a business plan and really thinking about opening a business. hope you like these ones :)

I agree with the tilt I think a few photos but not too many are great on a tilt . I love the last three.

Last 3 are some nice clean images again, all 6 images are definite keepers
Do you use Standard JPGs from the 400D?

Ok, call me silly, but what does raw mean? As in, untouched, unedited?

Raw = no compression, no processing by the camera, just the raw pixels that the camera captures. (full colour depth/range)
JPG = Joint Motion Picture Group - Compression that uses mathmatical algorithms to group like colours and shapes throughout a photo (8bit colour depth)
So ultimately when you shoot raw your photos will be more like the photos you took and no quality is lost. When JPG is shot you can loose alot of colour from an image (well i have seen it anyway)

I like 3 the best, subject looks at ease, and very comfortable shot

Yeah they have the 400D standard JPG look about them. I find the 400D has a very different tone curve from other Canon cameras, the blue channel seems to be stronger, and the results are more subdued whereas other cameras tend to be more punchy, which isn't a bad thing I like the pleasent look of the photos

Hi Jessika, glad to see your off to a good start! My advice, and I am sure other would agree is that you should be shooting in RAW for your wedding images. As you will find it is a much more forgiving format should you need to change something in post production. Remember your getting paid to shoot these weddings and your clients will want the best quality from you! Good luck going forward!

thanks everyone :) yeah i shoot my weddings in raw, but the ones of my friends arent. i use manual mode on my camera and shoot in raw. especaill when i work for a lady who does weddings as well, she always like stuff to be done in raw. the main reason why i dont use it is cos it never displays my pictures up as pics on my computer, all i get is a thumbnail with the adobe symbol. dont know why hahah
