Hi All,
Thought Iwould start this thread off...
I have been taking some sort of photos for years, but really got interested when I got my first compact digital, a huge 1.3 megapixel beast, sheesh mobile phones come with that now !! So as time went on I upgraded but was never really happy, and wanted an SLR version... But that was not going to happen when they were about $5K a pop...
So when good old Harveys advertised the Olympus E300 before Xmas for $999, I thought it was time to upgrade... Not content with the small lens, I went for the upgrade that had the two lenses in it... Bought a memory card and nearly $1300 later we had our SLR, could not wait for the battery to charge !
Well to say I have a passion for photography now is understated I must say, but I am really enjoying it and have tried to invlove my family with mixed success ! We have setup a mini studio in the garage, got some material to make some back drops, a a refelctor that I use with halogen lights (can't afford or justify the real thing !!) and we have obtained some props etc....
I am doing a photo course and have learnt a lot, enjoy using photoshop, though that has been a huge learning curve... We have books, mags, DVDs and trying to learn as we go. Now that we have broadband I will be able to upload some of our work...
So that's the short version of why I am here ! :D
