Anyone need a FREE Photographers Assistant??

Hi

I am looking to get experience in the wedding industry over the next couple of years.

Predominantly looking to learn the ropes by assisting &/ taking shots aswell.
Would like to keep the pics i take as building my own portfolio, though obviously you can use them however way you want too.

If anyone can point me in the right direction on finding out where people look for this sort of position PLEASE PLEASE let me know! :)

You shouldn't devalue yourself by offering to work for free, surely your work deserves some sort of compensation

Located in Balmain (Sydney).
Willing to travel if expenses covered.

I genuinely would love to to this. I love weddings and I love photos. I want to combine the two. I have been taking hobby pictures for some time.

I am a mother of soon to be two children (due march 09). I am transitioning from one career to another and i'm giving myself plenty of time so i get it right!

When i say "free" I mean like work experience rather than a job to start with.
