For anyone who is interested I attended Rihanna & Chris Brown last night @ Acer Arena, I was taking photo's for 3DWorld Magazine (www.3dworld.com.au) for those who're curious.

I was using 24-70 F/2.8L on my 40D and 70-200 F/2.8L on my 350D.

You can view the shots here: http://byronjc.deviantart.com/gallery/

CC is always welcome!

edit: This is my first time I have ever done Acer Arena they had pyro and fire going as well during the first couple of seconds here and there through the songs for both performers and damn it was cool !! I'm hoping I get to do more work there.

We were only allowed in for the first 2 songs of each performer then we had to leave, 2-3 songs are pretty standard when it comes to taking photo's for press. Performance was good though pretty entertaining was great to be up front and close with them.

I can't wait to do more shows at Acer!

All in all though, good shots... do you think performers realise how ugly they look when they are singing and dancing sometimes? lol

Some alright shots. There were a few I noticed with IQ problems, softness/focus issues. But ah! As long as 3DWorld was happy!

Man oh man Rhianna is hot though.

Nice shots! Tough to shoot in these conditions!
All those lights and pyrotechnics would stuff up your presents for sure!
I am assuming no flashes guns allowed? would have made your job even harder :(

Technical wise, you brought only f/2.8 lenses which I think is still a bit slow to stop action in those environments even at 800/1600 ISO. I think that was what
Charismatic was referring too, motion blur. During the pyro parts the images do look a bit OOF

Looks like you go up pretty close to the stage! too bad you couldnt stay to enjoy a front row seat :D

Nice work as always! Shooting concert is never easy. I found that most of Rihanna's shot cut at ankle or feet. uhmm... No?
