They do say rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck so I have a feeling this couple will be happy. It did stop long enough to go and get some formal shots - however, I would have gotten some more if one of the groomsmen wasn't being an idiot.
Here are some of my favourites - I have played around with some old style techniques as well - not sure they are really effective in low resolution but have included some anyway.
Hope you like them, Linda

They look lovely (very compressed though???) My fave would be the second one, if it was just the bride and groom. The other people don't seem relevant to the picture as they are all engrossed in their own conversation. Crop it around the B&G and then do the vignette and you would have a stunning portrait of the happy couple :)

I did take one without the bride and groom as well in the same style as the second one. I had seen this type of shot with the bridal party talking off to the side in my research for different shots and I liked it so thought I would give it a try. I know it's probably not everyone's cup of tea but thought I would try something different.
I agree the photos are very compressed, this is intentional these photos are also the ones that are for emailing and I got so sick of people just trying to print photos from emails that I now compress them so you can see what they are like but to get the full effect you need the original. It was late last night when I decided to add these so I didn't bother doing larger files for here. Although the last two have an aged look in the originals so I probably don't need to compress them as much.

Hi Linda were you the primary Photographer?
I think you got a nice set, it's always difficult to get the people doing the proper thing in the limited time available
I'm not a fan of heavy vignettes but that's my personal perference. I do feel image 3 could have more of a pop to it though, it looks a bit cool to me at the moment

Thanks for looking Smorter (& Mistie). I was the primary photographer for this one. I will have a look at the coolness in the 3 image. I will probably use the black and white one of this one anyway so will see what happens.
I think I have worked out the compression problems - ended up getting an action to do it - I think I was saving the file too low. The borders are for my site. Please let me know if the compression doesn't look right.
I will admit that I wasn't prepared for what to do if it rained on the day and we couldn't use original locations. That is my big lesson from this one make sure to discuss with the bride and groom exactly what is going to happen in the event of rain and where they will have formal shots taken.

Linda, like the photos... Someone has to ask.. what did the one bad groomsman do?

Thanks Simon - well, where do I start, he was making sexually explicit comments the whole time, sticking his tongue out, pretending to put his hands on breasts / up dresses - basically just anything to get attention. By the end of it I was asking him to just act normal for 5 minutes - it was a bit annoying after a while.

Yeah as it would.. too bad you are the photographer, you sort of have to put up with it.. otherwise a crude shutdown comment works

Well at least I only had to put up with it for a couple of hours and he did manage to settle down to get some nice shots so that's all that matters

Nice photos! I love the second one too. I got married on the same day - although fortunately the weather was perfect here in Adelaide. Annoying about the groomsman but well done! :)

Congratulations on your wedding.
Oh well, I guess you will come across all sorts if I really start to concentrate on weddings - at least I didn't have the bride from hell so I was happy with that.
I can definitely see how my photography is improving every time with every attempt. Tips from what I have read here have helped as well as experimenting more.

Thanks Erwin - I was really happy with the way they turned out.
Just had a look at your site, the panorama's are great - I would love to be able to take photos like that.
I think you have some great photos there Linda. I agree with the one with the bridal party off to the side. I actually had that done in my wedding (many moons ago). I reckon its a good relaxed fun one. In mine they were having drinks from an esky, very laid back. I'm not sure about the B & W one with the bride and groom in your last set posted. Can't work out what the go is with the black area at the top - goes thru the grooms head. Apart from that I think you have done very well.

I was hoping they would have brought some drinks but no such luck - probably because of the mad dash from the car when the rain stopped.
The black area was the rocks in the background - might have a go at lightening one of the areas a little bit to get some separation - thanks for pointing that out Trace. It's not as obvious in the colour version so should be able to do this before converting again.
