Bit different to the "boring" kites we had as kids. Hard place to photograph in full sun and photographing into the sky>good place for manual/spot metering>ready like the photo of the boy and his kite.

Just had a look, I think our Dragons are brothers! Weifang looks very cool, the historical home of kites!

The Chinese take their kites very seriously indeed, just beautiful. Going there is on my wish list.

Yes a traditional; Chinese Dragon. Weifang is well worth a vist but a bit out of the way but if you can combine with a vist to other parts of China its well worth a visit, usually held mid April. If you're a Kite flyer you may be able get there as a competitior and get free accomodation, meals etc.

All great shots guys, I never realised there were so many different sorts. Some nearly look like balloons more than kites.
