Wedding on Saturday, figured I'd throw up a picture from it.

I like this one,

Is it my computer screen or is it some kind of special effect that I'm seeing?

^ Special-effectage, my friend.

I'm getting this printed on canvas for them. I used three bracketed layers, similar to HDR, I guess. Except on a few layers I used a very low opacity cut-out to give it that less rough edge.

Top left of her arm looks a bit weird just above the tattoo might want to get that fixed before you print it out and they don't like it, especially when It's the woman's day!

^ That's what Proofs are for, skeech.

TBH, if I was the bride, I wouldn't like that blob on my shoulder, especially when I picked out a dress to show off my tattoo. (I know, harsh crit - but I am just being honest).

If I saw it on the proof I would be like "WTF???"

It will be VERY obvious on a canvas. So will the pink on the other shoulder.

My, my you people can be redundant lol - Yes, I know there is a blob. I have two copies - One for canvas, one without canvas.

Here, for those who can't get past some random little blob,

Non-Blobbage:

Hi Karizmatik

Although I like the scene, I think you pushed the photo way too far to the point where posterization is dominating the photo. My eyes are drawn to the posterization particularly in the clouds and the waves and the dress.

^ That "Posterization" is particularly intentional.

Thanks though ;)

I don't mind it, yes the later one is better for a wedding, is that at Caloundra.
Is that a dinosaur's head above the trees in the distance, could clone that out. I would also clone those people out near the grooms head.
Nice views there of the Glasshouse mountains, nice colours.

I love the composition of this shot, but my eyes are always drawn to the parachute thing on the beach. Maybe you could try to clone it out?

I like the final image. Makes it look like they are there on their own to enjoy their special day in perfect seclusion.

Nicely done.

i think you were obviously trying to make it look like a painting ( for a canvas) rather than a photograph? am i right. if so i like it, if not well its not something i would do but each to there own.

Tend to agree with Smorter on this one.. My eye went straight to the effects and the blob, instead of the bride and groom. Nice picture but I was too busy looking at the rest of the effects to see if they were in fact, effects..

It doesn't look right to me; the sky just looks too fake and overworked.
What did it look like before you messed with it?
It kind of looks like someone unexposed a photo, and then did some water paint to the sky.
As a thumbnail it sort of looks alright, but I think if it was real big on someone’s wall they'd just keep finding things they don't like about it... like some of the inconsistent out of place water colouring/highlights. Maybe that's just me, I'm the kind of guy who sits on the dunny and finds paint imperfections on the walls but I digress....
Besides the editing that I obviously don't like, I think the chrome rail is a bit of a distraction. The whole perspective thing is ok, but the blown out chrome is the first thing my eye goes to when I look at it.
If the sky was anything fancy to look at maybe it would have worked better as a silhouette, or even better... you could have sat them on the rail to the grooms left, got down low on the beach and shot up at the couple using the sky as the backdrop.
The sun sets in the west so whatever sun light is left lights them up nicely, it's the easiest shot in the world to get, looks great, and usually guarantees at least a 20x30" framed print sale... at least it would if you didn't give away a CD ! :)
