So I've been hired to do photo's for a night club in Sydney basically take photo's of anything and everything within the club, I also get special privileges to take photo's of the live bands that play and yes I can also too get on stage with them while taking photo's as long as I don't damage anything in the process ... haha.

Here's some of my work to date:

Great stuff! Especially like #3 and #4. Drummer really going for it, as drummers do.

You could stand to crop harder to define your subject more precisely.

Thanks. I do this on a weekly basis so I might try chopping and cropping along in the next couple of shoots I do :D

We lived with a drum kit in the lounge room for years.

My son took up drums at age 11 and kept it up till age 24.

Band practice was at our place, every Thursday afternoon, for several years.

you could try to get a sense of movement as I guess that this is not orchestral music and they seem a little static. perhaps lengthen the exposure a little so their hands are blurred giving a sense of movement? also they seem out of context so perhaps some of the crowd and surroundings maybe in the low foreground.
but hey I'm no expert.

Those last four look like my type of music :D
Sounds like you got a pretty sweet gig there then.
I like the third one(in first post), he looks still but looking at his hair you know he's mid-head bang, works for me :)

Not saying your previous shots were bad, but these are better.
The second of the guitarist is magazine material!
Are these guys local bands?

ByronJC

Yeah they're Sydney-based local bands, I take photo's for Club Abduction every Saturday night which of course they've got live bands and lots of people.

I am in the process of contacting a few magazines / papers in Sydney to see they are interested in my work hopefully I might get a reply and start getting some of this stuff published.

Well, with those pics I wouldn't be surprised if they end up in a mag/paper.
All the best with it all.

Thanks for the support and kind words It looks like my work has paid off I recently got in touch with 3DWorld Magazine and they're very happy with the quality and type of photo's which I am doing.

They've offered me a photographer position which is volunteer work at the moment but it gives me the chance to have my stuff published on there website and in there magazine plus will also be covering events for them for Australia and International shows.

Those last ones you threw up are much, much, much, MUCH better than that last stuff I saw from you.

Great improvement, and congratulations on the magazine!
