Here are a couple of pics from my first wedding as a photog.
Setting was Gosford Golf Course - Adam & Lauren Hooper.

Let me know if wedding photography is my thang???

Thanks in advance for your support and feedback.

Wow.. you have some serious lenses breaking that virginity.. I have yet to do that.. Nice shots.

Do they all seem burnt on the white or is that just me?

Hey Simon, yes, the last two, in RAW, were close to lost due to bright blowouts. But increasing the recovery slider and a few others, helped salvage what I could. I have many others, but especially these two, I'd like opinions if they are way too bright/blownout.
As for the lens, I need to get some of the money back, so not having sold any other images yet, weddings pay...

Thanks for your input.

try dropping the exposure and pushing the fill light and vibrance, that can get results from blown out photos. Another tip outside is to shoot 1/3 stop underexposed. You can always bounce the slider. its alot harder to recover from blown photos

Wow, that's some serious cleavage there, especially the last shot.
Some chicks are a bit sensitive about that kind of thing, I hope this bride isn't one of them.

She wore the dress DG77

Burn outs: I often make two images from the one raw file; one for skin tones and another for the dress> drag one image onto the other> erase offending parts from top layer> merge layers and that should make a reasonable image.

Cheers

Ian, I'll give that a try.
Simon, there are about half a dozen shots like these that were blown out badly in RAW, so I am prepared to try all suggestions to save them, as there are some great smiles in them.

Thanks all.

Can I have a play? I can only see two images, but I think there is some potential to rescue the blowouts...

The detail is all there in the dress believe it or not...

Mel, go ahead. The others I had to pull from my Flickr page as it is full..
If you wish, I can email some for you to play with.

I can see the detail in the dress and veil - they look a bit bright but that could be my screen as well (it does do that with photos not in photoshop). I thought the extra brightness was due to post processing due to the grass being extra green and the veil and flowers in her hair glowing.

I would be happy with them if they were my wedding photos. Did you use the 24-105 lens mostly for the photos? I used that one for the wedding I did - I love that lens very versatile.

Would like to see some others from the day if you want to post them.
