Hi everyone,

I'm a complete newbie when it comes to photography! Hoping to find a decent camera and being a new found passion.

Perhaps one day I will be contributing some nice shots like many photographers have on this forum.

Now onto the quest of finding a starting DSLR within my budget!

Allan

Hi Allan

Like you I too am looking for a DLSR. Have made my choice, just need the budget to buy a Canon 40d.

You will find much helpful advice already posted on the fourm and no matter what question you ask, even if you may think that it is trivial or basic, there are a lot of really knowledgeable and helpful people willing to share with us. They are extremely patient and will persist until we see the light.

Welcome to APF

Welcome Allan, send in your photos Allan and ask for some tender CC. Best first advice for when you get camera is to put the camera setting to P [programme] and learn from there and forget the other settings for away. I still think a good point and shoot camera and programme like Photoshop Element 6 is good for those starting out. It does matter what you use but how you use it. Enjoy the journey.

Cheers
