Hi all!

I figured I should introduce myself if Im going to be posting here :)

Im a 3rd yr BA Photography student at RMIT university... (fantastic course for anyone considering it), and Ive also done 2yrs of the Bach Communications course at ECU in Perth (majoring Photomedia and Interactive Multimedia)... Im still trying to decide if I can be bothered going back and finishing my 1st degree... I left it to go to RMIT and it was a good decision.

Ive been into photography seriously since I took up the subject in high school, so about 10yrs ago now. I photographed my first wedding 5 or 6yrs ago now, and I still do them now. However, I dont desire that to be my only income when I graduate. Im aiming to get into the editorial, industrial, corporate and documentary sectors.. yes yes i know, a wide range, but its all so much fun! :D

Ive assisted about 4 photographers, and also done lots of Photoshop work. Ive taught Photoshop and I also want to do this once I graduate (I'd have more time then )...

Im in the middle of my final year at RMIT, and unfortunately for me, Ive been diagnosed with cancer, so my husband and I moved back to Perth for my chemo, and Im lucky enough that my uni teachers are letting me do my final folio externally (as such)... It just means itll be a bit harder for me to get feedback and to get out as often as I may need to.. but we'll see how I go getting it done.. I want it to be good, but if worse comes to worse, I'll just have to finish it next year if Im allowed. Kinda sucky thing to happen in my final year, but *shrug* what am I to do about it? ;) Luckily, chemo has been kind and I was only sick for a few days, and its only 6months worth.

Ok, back to Photography related stuff...

ummmmm.... I love high fashion.. and I love my documentary work.. for me its either end of the spectrum.. youve either got to have it perfectly fake and seamlessly beautiful, or fully gritty and real... Im very critical of work, probably cos I am of my own work... Im a perfectionist (arent we all?), and I also LOVE what I do, so I know that I have YEARS to perfect what I am doing.

I am a PhotoJournalism/Editorial major at uni, so I do more of that than fashion, but I still love it, and would love to have the oppurtunity to do it.. I might chase up my sister in law actually,.. she mentioned something about model shoots for her hair studio....

Anyhoo, Im open for anyone asking any questions or advice from me... I know a bit about business, how to get a job in the industry (I have been employed constantly for about 4yrs now - never without work), and also photography technique, and of course in Photoshop.

So thats me. :)
