hello im from brisbane and at the moment have a not so great digital camera but am about to buy a new one i was thinking mabe the Canon EOS 400D SLR with Twin Kit any ideas on this camera

Polly, give the forums a search, you will be surprised how many times that questions gets asked. Just buy one that you feel confortable with. They all do the same thing.. Take photos LOL.
Welcome to the forums btw! how much do you have to spend on camera and lenses etc?

Well for me it was what felt natural, now im just a brand junkie lol so.. you really have to make that decision yourself. I can tell you most people that have canon will push canon and most that have nikon will do the same. People seem to get passionate about there cameras.. i mean who wouldnt, you spend thousands on them!

not greatly. its the megapixel myth, the more the better. It will only affect you when you start to print things bigger than 8x10.. I have a 10mp and i printed a 30x40 inch with no pixellation.
