Hi everyone,
We are amateur photographers and are organising a 17 day Photography Tour to Thailand and Cambodia leaving from Australia in September or October of 2009.
This tour is being arranged by amateur photographers, for amateur photographers, and is based around opportunities for good photography, while still enjoying the best tourism and hospitality these countries have to offer. The tour is aimed at serious amateur photographers, and there will be experienced photographers on hand to offer advice and support. The aim of the tour is to enjoy and capture the scenery and culture of these countries in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Places will be limited to 12 photographers, plus any partners who may wish to attend. Places are being filled already, so you are welcome to secure your place now with a $500 deposit.
Highlights of the tour will include...
•4 days in Siem Reap, Cambodia including the temples of Angkor Wat
•2 days in Phnom Pehn, Cambodia
•optional 1/2 day of volunteer work in Cambodia
•4 days Bankok, Thailand including attractions like the floating markets and the ruins of the old capital at Ayutthaya
•2 days in Chang Mai, Thailand, including the local craft industries and a visit to one of the local hilltribes.
•5 days in Koh Samui, Thailand to relax and enjoy the island setting, including a photo shoot on the beach with a local model.
This tour allows you to concentrate on your photography while we organise the actual travel components, and share our knowledge of the best places to go to truly capture the feel of these stunning tourist attractions. We will be providing opportunities for many different types of photography, including landscapes and cityscapes, portraiture and a beach fashion shoot, wildlife, and photojournalism. There will be both day and evening shoots, with some early mornings to take advantage of sunrise and that lovely early morning light.
The cost of the tour will be $6000 pp twin share, or $7000 pp single rate. We are happy to help match singles up to share rooms wherever possible if desired. This includes....
•Return airfares to Thailand from Melbourne or Sydney.
•All internal airfares within Thailand and Cambodia.
•16 nights accommodation in 4 and 5 star hotels.
•Entry fee to local attractions.
•All internal travel and taxis and local guides in selected locations of the tour.
•Breakfasts on most days and dinners on more than half of the tour.
•Comprehensive travel insurance for your safety and peace of mind.
•During the tour you will have a website space available to display your best photos, and after the tour you will be provided a slideshow DVD to show family and friends.
What will you need to bring?
•Digital SLR Camera with at least a couple of good lenses.
•Tripod
•Laptop with photo editing software and plenty of available storage space.
•Clothes and personal items (laundry and shopping facilities will be readily available)
•A sense of adventure and humour, as well as tolerance for your fellow travellers. While we aim to make sure everyone enjoys their trip, it is important to try and get on well with your fellow travellers and for everyone to be patient with each other. If you have never travelled to this region before you need to be ready for a certain degree of culture shock, and respect for the cultures and people we will be visiting is essential.
As previously mentioned, places will be limited to 12 photographers, plus any partners who may wish to attend. Attendance is at the discretion of the organisers, and all attendees will be required to adhere to a code of conduct for the safety and wellbeing of everyone on the tour.
