Stunning Jules. I love how you've captured the reflection of the water on the hulls of the boats.
Okay, real newbie-type question for you and I'm almost embarrassed to ask, but... What's the Quadtone method of mono conversion? :o

It's one I only came across recently.
I am using PS CS2.
Here goes. Convert picture to greyscale using your favourite method. I applied a graduated grey gradient map adjustment layer. Change mode to greyscale (discard colour info - OK) then change mode to duotone. Click LOAD, Navigate to quadtone folder and select the last quadtone in the the list (541 513 5773.ado). There you have it!
I hope this helps!

Thanks! I chose this one as I thought it had the right elements for a quadtone.
Anyway here is the colour version.

Many thanks Jules, something else for me to try. :)
I like the colour one, too, but have to say I never noticed the fellow on the first boat in the mono conversion. He stands out a bit in colour. ;)

Jules, the result is great. I like the original photo and composition, looks like a very nice spot, small fishing village? May be wrong but certainly get that impression from the image. Nice work as always.

Sorry it isn't! It is the wharf at a fishing companies processing plant. At weekend it is quiet enough to be able to stop close enough to access the wharf where there is often glassy reflections.
