Pre-dawn gives such different lighting compared to the night shots here. I really like the deep blue on the third shot. The minimal office lights really make a difference too. You can even see the stars. Although, I think I should probably remove them from these shots as they look a bit like noise, but I haven't post-processed them yet. Any thoughts?

Hi Davo, as you've asked for them, here are my thoughts. As nightscapes all three lack a strong point of interest. Secondly, you have centred the horizon cutting the composition horizontally into two pretty much equal parts of water and sky. I understand the temptation to do this, I've faced the same dilemma myself when presented with a nice reflection. If these images were mine I would crop most of the sky until 2/3 of the picture was water. I like the way they illustrate the progression of dawn.

Hi Davo,

I agree wit Mark about the sky. They are really nice shots though and it is amazing how the colour changes as the sun rises...

I personally would have kept the sequence going, so that all three are the same, as 1 & 2 appear to be.

I can see the advantage of getting up in winter to catch these, if I was to do similar up here in summer it would be 4am... As for getting up here before 7 am in winter...Hmmm, maybe not ! :)
