Stonehenge

First time I arrived here was about 4:30 pm (it closes at 4pm).

Had to shoot this through the fence from the roadside, but I think it turned out OK because the light wat just perfect:

Returned on other days and collected shots from other spots too, but I still think this is my favourite of it.

It definitely worked well if it was shot from the fence outside - I've never been there before so I wouldn't know how far away it was shot, but I reckon it turned out quite well. And you're right about the lighting, you arrived at the right time of day!

I'd love to go to Stonehenge one day... so many photo oppurtunities. :)

It's not really that far.

Stonehenge is at the moment, kind of sandwiched in the fork of a road and one of the side roads passes very close. It just sort of sits off the side of the road up on a hill in an open plain (it's not the only structure in the area, just the biggest and most famous).

There is a new road being built and then the site is going to be restored to original (pre-road) condition, but that's still a few years away before it's all complete.

You got the lighting spot on showing the texture but I thing a crop out of some foreground and is it quite level?

I woul;d like to see it slightly less exposed but I like it a lot the way it is also.
