Water is so scarce in the outback of Australia. Locals use trees  as the source of drinking water. A tap is screwed into the trunk of this tree pictured here and when turned on, the tree draws water up by its roots from the water table deep down below from within the ground.
A great idea and a sweet supply of fresh water in an otherwise arid environment is always on tap from the trunks of these unique Ozzy gumtrees....just screw your tap into the trunk of these trees and you have fresh drinking water :D

Aye... this idea goes back years and years...
And if you leave the tap dripping, it keeps the tree watered as well...
Another good one from the outback is to train peanut runners to grow up malleluca trees. As they ripen in the hot summer sun the peanuts roast inside their shells. I've seen kids (and adults) gorge themselves on these naturally roasted peanuts until they were ill...
Great place the outback

Aye well...
Depends how hard you get ahold of their tails...
See, their testimonials are very close to the base of their tails and if you squeeze overhard - well their eyes pop out then...
