On saturday I went out and took some night shots. I was in a bit of a hurry so I couldnt experiment too much .. there's a bit more noise than I would like but I do my processing on a laptop and it gets too difficult to do much .. or am I just too lazy ?? :)

Edit: I have cleaned the sensor since thse pics too :)

They seem fine to me as far as noise goes...and Im on my laptop where I find the monitor to be not as grealt quality as the pc.
Im getting lazy with my post editting
Nice shots !!

edit to add: love the one of the hull of the boat, nice colours:)

Thanks snowygal... the hull is my favourite too... partially because it looks good but mostly because it was pitch black and the auto focus wouldn't work so I did a best guess with the focus .. and it worked :)

Nice work... I can see a bit of noise, but it is not distracting... I like both the hull and the one under of the city and boats..

I am thinking the hull might look good BW ?

Very nice night shots Xa - I'm sure I recognise the first one of the guard tower shot from the excercise yard at Pentridge, huh? :D

Having never been to Pentridge ( only Port Phillip Prison .. not a a guest :) ) I can't comment.. but it's a small tower on the St Kilda marina.

Very good.

I like the last two the best. That boat hull shot is simply eerie. :eek:

I must hasten to add that I was only kidding - wouldn't want any of my peers here to get the idea that they might be consorting with a felon! :cool:

hahahaha, well, I have been inside a prison and they aren't nice places. I spent 3 months in a holding cell arrangement ( I got to go home every night before someone says anything and it wasn't day release :D ) I'll be damned if I can figure out how people escape from them !!
I want to get into Pentridge .. it's now apartments, and try some nice twilight photography. It's the other side of town though .. I'll just have to get over the laziness.

OMG, with the history it has who would want to live there? My difficulty would be the siren going off every time I had to break-out to go shopping!

Seriously, those night shots are inspiring - now all I have to do is to psyche myself into going out at night or getting up before dawn ... Hmmm, maybe next summer! :D

Go out at night... it doesn't involve an early morning .. I get enough of those with work :)
