Here's a couple I took on the rocky shores of Fossil Cove, near the mouth of the Derwent River on Monday.

I really like the second one. Maybe I am just a sucker for a portrait format.

They look fantastic. But I am a sucker for black and white. Great job!

I really like the second one - you've got a really great gradient going there because you've made them black and white.

Well done!

both are brilliant imo, but the portait one get's my nod out of the two. the landscape one is more difficult to look into the background of - ie- there is not as clear a delineation between sky and horizon.

but if i can ever take shots as nice as that, i'll be very happy.

can i ask what your equipment is, jules?

the horizon line seems so far away, but when u look at it i feel i am sucked into the picture. crazy lol

and the sky adds alot of depth and mood. i like, i like!

Second image gets my vote as well. Great contrast with dark clouds and white water. The spray is also in the goldern mean! Well Done! :)

Thanks for the comment! You'll be pleased to hear that I use a Pentax K10D!
These photos were taken with it, using the 18-55mm kit lens and no filter, with the sun at my back.
I also have the Pentax 100mm Macro which is an excellent lens. The other I use normally is a 25 year old Manual Tokina K 100-300mm zoom lens. I have a couple other KAF Pentax lenses from my film days, I only use them occasionally.

Thanks also to everyone else for the nice comments.

I am pleased you said that! It was the sense of depth and being drawn into the photos that I was trying to achieve!
