Yes, very brooding. The misty backgound off to the right is lovely.

It looks to me like you used a GND filter, as across the top of the trees and the church roof is a straight edged dark area, might need some dodging. Don't know about 'over processed'. It has a slight HDR feel to it, but it really brings out the ominous nature of the weather.

Awesome photo here. The contrast boost is huge but just right, not overdone (overdoing contrast is a common error). Great colours. Did you by any chance apply an ND Grad to this shot?
