Here is a shot I took while I was in London of a war memorial.. I've run a black and white filter over it and want some CC.. I don't have photoshop all I have is Picasa to edit at the moment.

I know theres a few annoying street lights in the back ground - which dont look as nice as the London Eye - is there a way I can get rid of those?

Is there any free programs anyone recommends that I can use to learn a bit more about editing??

This was shot on my old DSC-T77 Sony compact before I got into SLR..

For some deeper editing for free try GIMP. just google it.

It has most of the features of an older version of photoshop.

I use picasa as a viewer (I love it's gallery system/style), and a mix of picasa and GIMP for editing.

Did your SLR come with any software ? Gimp is a good free option for sure.

I just adjusted your shot a bit however I think I have made it too dark the size was a little small, I also cropped and straightened, just to give you some ideas really of what you can do playing around. What do you think

thanks buddy... Yeah its good to see the different effects different programs can do...
I suppose it's all in your imagination though, its not often we accidently click the buttons that'll make the perfect shot without having a plan prior...
