Okay so I started playing around with some time lapse stuff, Dont mind the quality, I put it down low for upload sake. I put it together with Windows movie maker but im getting a dark grey strip and the top and bottom of the clip, I gather this is becuase the images are thinner than the frame in WMM, does anyone know if theres anyway to change this? Or a better FREE program to use?

Heres a link to a short clip to explain what i mean!

that is because the ratio of the photos (4:3/ 3:2 etc), do not have the same proportion as the screen/ output ratio something like that

when you click output, there should be something like output ratio of the video
just click the ratio that matches ur photos.

Wow , intense but I think the sky is a bit overpowering in the image if its meant to be the Hotel

As mtmt said, it's got to do with aspect ratio. The way I go round it is by batch cropping the photos to 16:9 (for 720p or 1080p HD) or 16:10 to suit most widescreen monitors.

That said, you might need to check Windows Movie Maker in regards to the project format as the video has 'letterboxing' in them due to different output vs source aspect raios.

The best program to use for timelapse is above all others Adobe After Effects
