As a "refugee" from another forum it feels very strange to be here  although I speak your language fluently and I didn't come by boat. :D I don't know any of you as yet and none of you know me. What's more, I must learn how this forum works. Meanwhile, please bear with me, I will explore the site and generally try and find my way about before I start posting pictures and shooting off my mouth.:)

Hi Atlas, thanks for your welcome ... it's a nice beginning. :) To answer your Q's, yes, it's pretty cold down here right now, 13C today in Launceston but it's a great time for shooting landscapes (which sort of answers your second Q.) I also shoot weddings as a pro.
It's years since I was last in Brissy, the last time was passing through on my way to shoot a wedding at Port Douglas some 10 years ago - I loved that location and the shoot! I see you are an Olympus man - as it happens so am I, although not with an E300. For Bushwalking, kayaking, travel etc., I run with the now legendary C-5050z with its super bright F1.8 glass - my beloved wife took it to Antarctica last February, (WOW!), and for my pro work, Nikons D2x, D70s, and an F4s.
Well, you are my first contact here, it's been nice meeting you and I hope we will keep in touch. Now I am quite overwhelmed by the complexity of managing this unfamiliar forum - much like learning to drive a car I guess.:) Questions, questions, questions

Ha! David, nice meeting a fellow taswegian here - I took a look at your car pics, excellent.
I am gradually finding my way around and how to do things - I even managed to update my profile.:)

Thanks Steve, good to be here after where came from, whew! And you're right on my doorstep too!
Although I've had years of experience uploading to Blogspot, Flickr and Epson Galleries I'm struggling to upload a picture to my landscape post - at present I'm all at sea with it.
EDIT: PROBLEM SOLVED!

Hi Atlas, I'm a real stumble bum having vaporized your last post it seems. Does every APF newbie do it tough, or is it only me! :)) I am attempting now to post another night shot of the bridge - if it displays correctly I will eat my cat!
