This is in the suburbs of Shenzhen , New territories China, about 50 mins by train from HK. I took this while on a Bus tour, 2005

I was thinking of mentioning that the whole scene looked washed out and lifeless.. until I remembered that ...well, that's a vast part of china ! The pollution makes the light a bit different.. diffused I suppose would be a good word.
The pic itself is very clear.. great detail.
