Funny you should say that. I found www.pentaxforums.com so that's my photo forum feeding ground now.

Got tired of all the prima donna's and squabbling - there are other forums which are still alive and well

I'm with you. I have never beeen offended by anything I have seen on this forum. If people think someone is a prima donna, ignore them and concentrate on the rest.

I,m still here. Dosen,t matter which forum you go too there will always be some who dont like what others have to say, Personally I have found lots of helpful advice and information in these forums.Would be a shame for people to leave because they dont like the way some people put their point of view across. Cheers Marty

It was only a matter of time. The arguing combined with the direction the site was headed, it was pretty obvious interest would start to drop off. Should bounce back. The site has a name that's easy to Google. Would be nice if all parties wised up (this Black and White format still shits me). I'll hang around for awhile, still have a "This is your week" thing with JaneDoe67 that interests me (hope your still listening JD). It would be great if others joined in.
Frank Spencer said on Channel 7 tonight. "It costs nothing to be nice". Maybe we should remember that once in a while.
Alex.

Never a truer word was said ...I likt this forum I was made welcome...:D
I still lurk, but the moderation is terrible here, and there is quite a negative feel to some areas and threads. Seems to have gone down the hill recently...
But, I still like to browse and check out peoples shots...

Hi Alex *waving* (and typing obviously )
I haven't been contributing and won't be (except for one post below). This place is in some weird zone that doesn't even make sense to me  I answered this because we started this thread thing and I felt nasty that I left it in the air. When I joined, there were sooo many nice people contributing and doing all that should be about photography. Some were even seeing puppies as drums  but it was all good.
As was mentioned above, moderation here is a problem, but then, who wants to blame the mods? Not me, because there is always an end buck that has to stop somewhere.
I have NO intention of staying 'anywhere' that feels it is giving me the privilige of allowing me typing space. I love sharing pics and typing about pics but I also like that to be in a place that has manners, rules and a decent moderation consistency that does not allow for any personal "stuff".
As for the project hee hee I lasted a week with the one pic a day. Actually EDIT - I lasted two months with one pic a day, dumped that as the quality was dropping for quantity - tried self-portrait a day for a week, then thought wtf? waking up every day thinking about taking a pic of yourself is the most selfish sort of obsession (I might love myself, but we keep the self-portrait to a healthy few times a month lol not every day sheesh) then tried the day in the life and seriously, a lot of days are just bad hair days and creativity can kiss my butt. I aint paying myself lol.
Seriously, there is just so much going on that I don't have the time even though I don't leave my house for formal 9-5.
BUT I have been working very hard on my portraits and keeping at it regardless. My gallery is uploaded pretty heavy every few days if not every day.
Hooroo!:D

Hi All,
I have found this forum and most of the people to be a great source of inspiration and help.
Having said that, there are aspects that I do not agree with, like or even care for. But as it is clearly not my forum, I can like it or lump it...
Trouble is I could leave, but then I would miss all the good stuff that does happen here, so I decided a while ago not to let myself get dragged into things, contibute where I can and leave it at that.
I have been suspended twice and if it happens a third time I won't be back, that is for sure. The mere fact this forum comes up in google is probably the only reason it keeps going, generating new members, but I am not sure how many stay on once they see what goes on...
Anyway, enough waffling, for those that have stuck it out like me, thanks, I do enjoy looking at your posts and appreciate your comments.
Are we having fun yet..... :D

i dont think i was ever a big contributor to the site, maybe thats why i haven't seen all the stuff that apparently goes on.
I do come on every day to have a look at what other people are contributing but because 40 hours out of my week i am taking photos that aren't copyrighted to me, i dont have anything to give.
I have seen the site slow way down, but i thought it was for the same reasons as mine. Life is busy, personal time is soooo hard.

Hi All
My name is Troy I live in Northern NSW.
I have been lurking in this forum for quite sometime and thought I better join even if just to say what a great amount of information is here.I dont realy have any photos so far that I feel realy proud of or that I want to get comments on I just need to practice more
I've watched most of the tutorial videos and many of them have been very helpfull and I have seen some awesome pics here that give me a lot of inspiration
It seems a shame that people if people are arguing and making negative about the forum and comments I'm sure the guys that run this place are only trying to do what they think best and I doubt they get paid.
Anyway I I hope to put some pics up soon
Peace & Happy Photographing
Troy

Welcome Troy hope you enjoy your stay. I havent been here that long so dont know that much about whats been happening on this site thats making people want to leave but theres no reason why things cant get better if everyone has a go it. How about a big group hug to get the ball rollin(Marty hugin and passin out good vibes) (Man can I dribble some manure when i,m tired LOL) But seriously as someone said earlier it aint that much of an effort to be nice:) Cheers to all and have a great week. Marty

Right back at ya...A BIG GROUP HUG...
All very soppy and I'm nearly in tears here.
The problems that this site is experiencing are directly contributable to the administrator being dictatorial and bloody minded. Being nice has to start with the administration listening to the members.

I'm still here I just don't get to visit everyday :) Too busy with photos and the toddler. Good thing is the longer I'm away the more I have to read when I do get on.
If there's anything going on here I don't like I just ignore it. Doesn't bother me. I've seen it all before, every forum has it's ups and downs and not everyone will get along, particularly online where you can't always tell the sentiment behind a post. Everything goes in cycles.
I enjoy seeing everyones photos and reading the comments so I'm still here.
