Too tired to write anything up for now so I'm just gonna quote what I've written previously. :D

P/S: View the video in full 720P HD quality by clicking the above link to Vimeo site. (Can't embed HD videos with free accounts.)
PP/S: Quite a lot of detail is lost in some scenes with the non-HD compression, so do view it in full HD. :D

In my latest and grandest attempt (to date - 11/12/2009) in creating another piece of time lapse photography/movie; I set out into the city, inspired by the music and managed to capture what is best summed up as the Adelaide experience after sun down: Mellow and mysterious.

Constructive criticisms & comments is more than welcomed.

Total of 686 stills @ 720P HD

Very well done. I like it, sound track and shots blend very well. Do tell some tips for future readers to have a go themselves ? When you get a moment. It looks like you have got it down to a fine form. Thanks for sharing.

Very very pro looking, how long did it take to capture it all? Did you just sit with the camera for hours?:D

Thanks for all the praise and I do have to apologise as I have been away for quite some time.

I looked at the time stamps of the shots and they start from 8:07pm till 12:19am midnight so that's a good 4 hours of time spent collecting different shots. :D It drizzled for a bit at the end of the initial scene but I'm glad it remained fine throughout the rest of the evening. Had my iPod to keep me company for a while but I ended up looking around for the next possible location.

I pretty much just wondered around the CBD and scout for locations that strikes my interest. It was a bit of an trial-and-error effort for the first time to try and collect as much frames as possible in order capture a scene of an enough length.

All shots were done in JPEGs to save space (600+ shots with space to spare on a 4GB SDHC card) and stills for a scene were combined in QuickTime Pro. I ended up with a total of 10 short clips of which were then imported into iMovie where the clips were arranged to go with the added soundtrack.

Took me quite a while to get used to iMovie as it was the first time I used it to make a movie. Come to think of it, it's the first time I've ever been bothered in making a movie. LOL. I might have had dragged on a bit it in some of the scenes :D but it was a compromise that I decided to make in order to make it sorta 'sync' with the music, AND I was tired. :D

Hi Jason. Great work mate. I love time laps movies. They express so much in so little time. Great quality in HD too. It's inspired me to do something similar!

AND I was tired. :D

Well, all I've got to say is if that is the quality you turn out when you're tired I just can't wait to see what you turn out when you aren't! That was pretty darn good, in fact I reckon it was great! Thanks for sharing.

That's fantastic! I LOVE the shots at the traffic lights, there's a sort of frenzy going on each time the lights change.

Thanks for sharing.
