Thanks guys, the plumber bum comes pretty natural for hubby and one other, I had to convince the other two to pull pants down and sit there... Son was mortified, could do with the carpark being full and heaps of people around. I'll pay for therapy later

On a more serious note, how does the image look with the contrast and the whites bumped up a little?

I had a play and the whites are about right I reckon, it was the blacks that needed a little correction. I think it gave the punch the BW was needing ?

I do most of mine in Photoshop so this is probably out of reach for most. However other programs allow you to use a histogram (which is what I adjust) and make sure that the ends are touching without anything going through the roof. I nice tip when adjusting is to hold down the "ALT button and it will show what areas are blowing out so you can adjust to a particular taste. Your conversion was very good by the way.

On the image in general I "LOVE" it, my daughter (6yrs) and I have a similar joke and we keep walking around going ooooh Yuck... She is just gonna love this. Well done.

If you have any questions let me know and if you want me to remove the edit no stress.

Thank you soooooo much Ausnapper, the photo looks heaps better. I dont have any photo editing software, but there is some editing stuff on the Mac (iPhoto), and that has a histogram, so I will check that out and play around.

Im beginning to think that photography is about how the photo makes you feel, does it make you smile, laugh, sympathize, cry, or shake your head in wonder. If you can get that across, the technical stuff can be worked out... (provided there is something to work with).

I am really enjoying sharing my photos and receiving the feed back, thanks guys.

It is only ever so subtle and that is what you need to look for just subtle changes to get it right. At least to your taste. iphoto should do what you need it to do. Best of luck and again great shot we all had a good laugh.

Yes you are right about the emotion, if you can get that you are on your way to a great shot. Doesn't have to be the best shot ever, but if you can make people have some sort of feeling or reaction you are well on track.

And I just love it too... my guess is the two on the left are the two naturals and the two on the right had to be convinced to do it... they have all done a great job just the same and that is just the sort of image I would have framed and hanging in the hall of (family) fame... certainly made me smile:D:p:D

I think it;s a wonderful candid moment. "Straight to the pool room" with the framed picture.

A great talking point to.

Cheers Gerdy.
