used a tokina 11-16mm and a 50d
5 second intervals, would have liked to do 2 second intervals though
from 5:50am till 8:30am

Hi Bobloblaw and welcome to the Australian Photography Forum :)

Wow! pretty cool mann :) haha
Did you do this with a electronic time-lapse shutter release cable?
Also looks good with the cloud formation, rather then the sunshine coming up and then just full brightness.
What software did you use to make the youtube video of it as well.

Cheers

Nice timelapse, the clouds in parts were very interesting, almost 3D feel. Interesting

thanks, i love how the clouds go in all different directions :)

i just used eos utility on my laptop
http://cdn.cloudfiles.mosso.com/c54092/app3060471257101603.jpg
unfortunately eos utility only allows 5 seconds as a minimum interval
i want to get an tc-80n3 remote so i can do 2 second intervals

i used quicktime pro to create the image sequence at 25fps, and then used imovie to add the music and create the final file to upload to youtube

i want to do a sunset one, but i'm waiting for a day that has nice cloud formation

i did one in williamstown on the end of a pier, and i just listened to music through my laptop

Hi bobloblaw

It is nice.... very nice! thanks for sharing. :)

I was wondering if you tell me some details about the image capturing.

i.e. RAW / Jpe, small or big size.

How many picture you shoot.

how long it takes to put together into a vedeo using the software you mentioned? is it requires lot of memory?

Thanks

Sal

thanks

because 1080p HD video is 1920x1080, the JPG Small setting should be big enough

this particular video was 1850 photos
one photo every 5 seconds

it takes about 5 minutes to make the jpgs into a movie using Quicktime Pro, but then exporting the file depends on how good your cpu is

Can I suggest your next project to show motion in the timelapse because what you are showing here can be achieved with a video camera and just speeding it up.
Timelapse works best with a flowing sequence of movement like say people walking around or cars moving in an intersection or water flow, these thing look great with a shot every 2 - 5 secs.
Check this http://vimeo.com/9475636 particully the people moving at 1:13 and the motion that a video camera cant do.
