Hi guys,
I've been asked to photograph a wedding in country VIC in October and I'm going to turn it down.
I'm in Sydney and there's just no way I can run off to VIC to take photos, with or without the 2yo.
I would like to be able to put forward some alternate photographers for them though. So does anyone here do weddings?
Like most couples they want the best for the lowest price :) Full coverage, getting ready through to the reception. Good quality photos and the negs or high res digital files.

Rebecca,
Brendan Roberts or Wendy Radley would be two of the best wedding photographers in Hamilton (My old town, shifted last month) Could also try "The Dark Room" If no success there another young lady by the name of Rhegan Lhurs also does wedding photography. Could get all their numbers on Monday. Regards

You guys are crazy if your giving your clients high res. digital files.
Nothing ruins a photographers reputation quicker than giving someone an electronic file only to have them print it either themself on a $100 printer or send it to the dodgy corner store to have it printed on incorrectly calibrated equipment.
I tell clients to find another photographer if they want high res files.

Oh well you can't just say crazy it's up to the photographer to decide. You just have to make sure you charge them enough for your work.

Unfortunately the market is changing and more and more want high res files.

You make a reasonable argument about not wanting your reputation to suffer but unfortunately not everyone sees it this way :(

I think the best compromise is to educate the client about the difference between a print from the photographer vs a crappy one from Ted's or something
