Hi Newbie from Brissy

Hello everyone!

My name is Dawn and I have been lurking here for a few weeks admiring all of the work posted. I have seen some truly stunning shots and hope that one day I can take photos like it.

I have a Fuji S9500, I love it, but am finding it tricky to get my head around all of the controls and features, I am thinking about joining my local camera club so that I can learn to use it properly.

I went up to Mount Cootha today and to the Botanical Gardens, took heaps of photos and found that I had the camera set incorrectly :( I have a lot to learn it seems :D Some came out ok and others were horrific.

If you want to pick up some tips for camera and learn lots, go to your local camera club, you will find you pick up heraps and quickly. :)

Hi Dawn,

I'm another Brisbanite also with a S9500. I have found it is a bit of a beast to control, but when it behaves it is an OK camera. I was advised to use manual focus only - not autofocus (thanks Simone!) and I have found that has improved the sharpness of my photos immensely!

I went camping at Dalby a couple of years ago and it rained so hard our tent fell down and flooded LOL Aparantly it was the first decent rain in 5 years so I couldnt complain.
