inspired by some self portraits posted here lately.

Hopefully I don't look this scary in real life!

After a run of 5 x 12 hour nights.

Oh jeez! First I am facing a Blair Witch experience, NOW a self portrait ;) Totally just kidding and AWESOME effects. Must share how you did that, that looks nifty - or don't share and it still looks nifty :)

Actually, have you seen that pc puzzle mind trip thing where you look at the negative pic for a time frame, then stare at a wall and see Jesus for the rest of the day? It reminds me of that - that was a trippy day (too much caffeine) and so cool to see that Nikon flag :D

Love the 'Nikon'.
(Of course, though, would have been a much better shot had it read 'Olympus' :p )

thanks guys - had a laugh at the 'brand loyalty' stuff. I usually try and bite my tongue when brands come into discussions, but great to see the gloves off (in jest).

shot in bathroom mirror - window light & iso about 800.

I just used 2 PS filters:
-film grain
-chalk and charcoal

painted a mask subtly (brush 20% opacity, 70% hardness) over the eye to let a little natural colour come through.

in all honesty...you'd look much more attractive with a Canon. It would set off your eyes :D

I think maybe we should have a self portrait thread. One where the members can post a self portrait of themselves so we all know who we are talking to :)

hehehe canons do make much nicer accessories :p
Interesting effect. I've never played much with photoshops effects.
I have played with some software called Art Master Pro which was interesting.
I like the idea of a self portrait thread.

hehehe yeh I noticed the wax works look too.
I think it had something to do with the torch I was holding in my lap.
I tried adding some grain in photoshop to rough it up a bit but it made it look worse.
