Looks good!
Over-processed? What was the original like?
How long was the exposure?

Exposure was 15 sec @ f8 f7.3 from exif data.
However, it looked a little lacking in colour so I incresed the red and also removed a building - just love digital .. lol
P.S. can someone help me with a simple way if embedding images into posts ?
I have a 'Flickr' account that I use if that helps.

unfortunatly I'm just as clueless as you are. I used to use photobucket and copy and pasted the link and that worked but I now use the photogallery here and don't have a clue.
Maybe Mike or someone needs to do a sticky on how to do this in the Gallery Information section.

The bottom of the pic is a little bright, but I love how you've captured the fireworks. I was a little surprised after reading that it was a 15 second exposure and then seeing how it turned out. I'll have to try that myself in a few days :)
One way to include the image is to look at it in the gallery or website you have it hosted, then right click on the image and check it's properties. There should be an address or path or something which looks like this: "http://www.photo.net.au/members/d/8639-1/331292706_6dd8743a71.jpg"
You can then paste that link with the [ img ] <url goes here> [ /img ] tags around it (without the spaces).
Cheers, Graham.
Flickr may object or cancel your account, they require a link back to their site and not just an embedded image, you can use the members gallery if you want embedded images.

pest if you want to show the image here post your pic in the gallery, once that is done click on the photo , click on properties , and copy the address (url) ie for this picture its
http://www.photo.net.au/members/d/8639-1/331292706_6dd8743a71.jpg
above you will see a mountain icon, paste the address into the pop up that comes up and bobs yer uncle
pushing colours/saturation looks great on the fireworks, but a little overdone on the background for my tastes.
What software are you using? Are you able to apply a mask to the background to hold back the effects?
to post the image, you can use the members gallery here and (if PC) right click and use copy image location. then paste this location surrounded by the as mentioned

Howdy,
Great to see another BrisVegas person on here :) I agree with D200, if you can mask the background out it would look better when you saturate.

The topic of postings pics has been covered often, if you do a search on my username you will find a detailed explanation of how it is done :)

Hi,
Thanks to all your help, I've figured out how to load pics into the gallery and into a posting here...

D200 I'm using ACDSee Photo Canvas to process, and I'm just playing at the moment till I get a handle on this whole pp thing.
Graham, The above pic was also 15 secs @ f8. I seem to remember from my slr days that f16 was the order of the day at night... so to speak...and exposure time for the effect I was after.
Atlas, Brissie is the only place to be ... isn't it ??
