Well, no secret, I am a B&W nutter. Here is a sunset I prepared earlier

Im a B/W nutter too!
Nice composition on this but would also like to see the colour version, the b/w seems to make the image quite dark

The colour one is so average!!! Sort of nice but too burnt out in the highlights for me. Never did find out if it was my exposure or the developing, as I never went back to that spot! But yeah, it is dark, I concur!

I'd lilke to be able to see what the conglomeration is in the centre ..birds I lguess... but something a bit more defined would have helped

Fine! Don't allow a woman to wallow about in darkness then ;)

Here is the color as is

OH and all the scratches and stuff - that is my lousy pic management system *blush* and the odd speckle - they are near 10 years old after all

i like the colour version to be honest.

only thing i'd do is crop out the forground just a little as the bottom left corner is distracting to me. and maybe adjust it a little to bring out the colours. although, saying that, i feel the colours as it is now works with the age of the shot.

Yeah, that is a super old shot and as is. Back then, PS was not something little folk like me even breathed on, so you had to live with it. I never knew if it was my exposure or not, hence why trannies were often nifty, only error was yours.

I always loved the colours and the composition, but as you say, that left hand corner creates an eye-twitch.

Meh - never mind! Better ones out there.

Thanks for your comments :)

Hi Jane,

I too love B&W, but for things like sunrises & sunsets, its the colours that really make the photo, thus B&W just doesn't work for me for those types of shots...

Just my 2c, don't forget to add the GST :)

Hmm yes and no. Not talking about mine here but I have seen some awesome b&w landscapes that have been really inspiring. All in the composition and mood for me, but yeah, generally, colour is best :)
