Here are a couple of pics from a recent wedding I did. They were great fun to work with, and just the best bunch of people overall. All members of a biker club.

hi there

absolutely love what you have done with the 2nd one. makes it look like they are the only two in the world with just a hint of the background..

love the smoke halo behind them on the dance floor but i'm afraid i really don't get this angle stuff.....i keep turning my head to straighten them up and if i do that then to me it defeats the purpose of taking it on the angle.

Mike, love the first. the effect has paid off! i dont mind the angle. its the sharp angles you have to worry about!

I love what you did with the lighting in the first image.
I have been trying to re create this effect.

Did you just place the flash on the ground and trigger remotely?

2 very nice shots!

1 is very nice, great colours and contrast, though I'm not a fan of the tilt

2 I don't like the softness/blur of this shot (was it induced in post processing?). It clashes with the high contrast image and looks especially odd juxtaposed with the first image

I told you Mike, I am having you do my wedding! I wont accept anyone else!

I love both of them. The angle is fine, the lighting is just so romantic and really accentuates the couple as a couple.

Love the softness of #2, and the texture, colours... I could go on and on. I truly love your work!

OK, I will try and reply to your comments one by one.

Angles in photos are not for all tastes, my clients see my style and choose me based on that. I don't do every photo at an angle (as you can see in the 2nd shot).

The softness in the 2nd is in post processing, I wanted to create a dreamy feel to the photo. If this was a model shoot, I would have left the hard lines in but weddings a are a little different. It does contrast heavily with the first shot due to the 2 different styles.

Angie - The shot actually took some planning. I moved the remote flash several times until I got the background (crowd) perfect. I asked the Dj to give the smoke machine 1 squirt as they got up from the table rather than wait until they got on the floor, so that it was spread a little through the air.

I had an SB800 on a photoflex stand behind the couple, this was fired with a bounced SB900 on the camera. The remote flash was dialed down to about 1/4 power (controlled from master flash) and I also had the wide angle diffuser down on the remote to try and capture the smoke.

Don't give up trying, I have done a lot of weddings, and had a lot of failures trying this effect, it's just this time I had a little more time up my sleeve to play around with it.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to comment.

Absolutely stunning couple of images. I love your lighting and the vignette effect.

love them. but the lay-out for both seems not so tight.

1st u can rotate it to straight line a little bit more
2nd one they should stay on the right side of the photos

thanks for sharing
