Looking really good Alicia.

Really like the dusk shot - the reflections on the water add to it beautifully.
The only thing detracting from it (and, in an urban environment, probably impossible to do anything about) is that, with the wide-angle, the buildings are all leaning in on each other. But that's just me...

something digital has improved out of site for photographers (we used to carry notebooks to note down all the camera settings). Your original files will have EXIF data telling you every setting you have used. If you have 2 similar photos and one works and the other doesn't, it is really worth while examining this information. Your sony probably came with a photo editing programme that can extract the exif data, otherwise I am sure there will be free downloads on the net. I use Adobe Bridge to get all the data from my files.

2 solutions
a) use photoshop - use the cropping tool and tick perspective up the top. pull the corners in until they line up with the building edges exactly, then exapand the crop edges to include as much of the frame as possible.
b) if you are as silly as me, shoot large format (and use vertical rise), you may need to morgage the house though!

If your photos are in the Gallery (which they are) EXIF data shows up there automatically. Good work BTW Improving everytime!

this took all of 20 seconds:

if you don't have a perspective cropping tool, there is another technique you can use - zoom as wide as you can go without fisheye effect, keep the back of the camera parallell to the building front (ie vertical), thus including heaps of unnecessary foreground and crop this out later. much less efficient though.

thanks for the info on obtaining EXIF data from the galleries Mike.
