Hi Everybody,
*Waits for a Hi Doctor Nic, but all she hears is crickets*

lol ahhh

anyways, I am looking to get into photography, been taking a few pics here n there, can't really afford a decent camera at the moment so i have been using my camera phone (dont worry its not VGA, it is 3 Megapixel), and i thought what better way to increase my skills than by showing other photographers what i can do and letting them critise and teach me.

"oh help me mend my wicked ways"

So um HULLO, I'm based in South East Brissy, i will post some of my pics up in the photo section and link it to here so you can all see what i am capable of :P

Here ya go http://www.photo.net.au/photoforum/showthread.php?p=5231#post5231

See ya round.

Did that sound alright? yer you think? ok cool.

Hi Sheeshie,

Welcome to the photonetau forums for starters! Always good to see the brisvegans representin' ;)

I think anyone here will tell you that skill and subject in photography is more important than what gear you use to capture. But you will come to a point where you realise the limitations of what you're using, and how that affects the pictures you produce. Its different for everyone.

As far as camera phones go, the K800i is just fantastic (I have one myself hehe). I regularly have people commenting that they can't believe such good pictures come from a phone. I've had a quick peek through your gallery and theres some good stuff in there. Keep shootin, ask plenty of Q's and have fun.

Cheers,

thanks dude.

my main problem is the steadiness of the camera, i have a terrible shake, the shake you get when something is important and its gotta be perfect lol.

Thanks for you comments. I'm gonna try n save for a slr camera eventually, finances are just toooo tight right now to even think about it.

Thanks again

The K800i actually has a shake reduction system built in. I suspect its just software based but if you want to try using that you need to be in one of the following scene modes: Twilight Landscape, Landscape or Beach/Snow.

Easiest way to change your scene mode is to use those little keys on either side of the top speaker. When holding the phone sideways, the scene key is the top one.

Hope that helps :)

yer i found the stability control function on the landscape scene, it is very handy. but i also love the focus for close ups too, i find the camera extremely easy to use if you dont know what all the camera jargon means lol.

Oh and of course if you shoot in BestPic mode you can select the least blurry image of the entire set.

Last week i bought a 1gb memory card for the phone. Its great =D especially when you get snap happy at social events like i do.

congratulations. what lens did you get?

unfortunately your photography addiction is only likely to get worse from here as you gain more control over your photography (not to mention the vast quality improvement with your new camera - giving your images that extra catchiness). enjoy.

look foreward to seeing what you can do with your new tool.
