Can some one explain to me how do I change the image res which always opens at 72 to open at 266 res.

When I open an image and goto image sizes it will read 72 res then if I goto auto, screen will be 133 clicking ok will then change it to 266 res.

Thanks in advance.
Pat.

When you open an image, photoshop will display the resolution that it was captured at, in your case 72ppi. Using the Image Size dialog box you can change the resolution to 266ppi. Be sure to uncheck the "Resample Image" checkbox otherwise any changes to the resolution will add or remove pixels from your image, which can reduce image quality.

I don't know of any way to do this at the same time as opening a document, but you can record a photoshop action to change the resolution and then apply this after you open each document. Personally i don't think there would be much of a speed advantage in doing that.

As for your question about the Auto setting, i've never used that sorry.
